I had a 2004 Colt 6920 and it had a sear block. You could machine this out, not illegal at all, but you could only use AR15 parts, not M16 parts. Many post 86 ARs had a sear block built into the lower receiver. If you see "Sear Ready" HK pistol (like Cohaire CA89), that is a pistol version of the HK94 - with a Full Auto bolt carrier, or a welded up Semi (the f/a bolt carrier has makes contact with the trip, semi does not) (note, an HK94 or clone could also be "sear ready", but you'd have a rifle length 9mm, not an MP5).Īdd a sear, and you can legally add a stock and you have an MP5 now.Īs for sear-ready ARs, sear ready means the sear-block is no longer there.
